For the 2017 edition of Capital City Visitor, the Illinois Times staff asked readers to submit their best artistic renditions of Springfield’s greatest celebrity (Abraham Lincoln) to grace the cover of our annual tourism guide. See 2017’s winning portrait, created by Estefania Loret de Mola, a current graphic design and marketing student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, along with some of our other top submissions during the 2017 Visitor’s Guide Cover Art show, which runs April 4-27 at the SAA Collective Gallery located inside the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Don’t miss the exhibition’s opening reception on Thursday, April 6, from 5-7 p.m., featuring live music by Tom Irwin, hors d’oeuvres compliments of Arena Food Service, and alcoholic beverages for purchase from Danenberger Family Vineyards.
