Whenever Lyman Ellerman returns to the home turf from his songwriter life in Nashville, Tennessee, be prepared for a full onslaught of original Southern rock tunes done Ellerman-style with an attitude that just won’t quit. The Riverton native spent a lifetime writing songs and playing them for folks from Louisiana to Illinois and all parts in between, and now brings it all back home with a homegrown band of veteran area musicians and friends. The Cause features Bill McKenzie (bass, vocals), Ed Fliege (keyboards), Joe Cooke (lead guitar) and Scott Mundstock (drums, vocals) backing up Lyman on a couple of brand new songs, along with a collection of tunes from his years of CD making, including a nearly complete reprisal of his last release. The Cause gives Lyman a live and experienced band of compatriots to perform his collection of songs wherever and whenever they need to be heard. Also on the bill is country songwriter and hit-maker Matt Kennon who racked up over 10 million (that’s right) views on YouTube for his song “The Call.”
