Back in 2003, Suzie Stephens decided to get a group together to expand and expose her love of music and performance, creating Ultraviolet in the process. Born a fourth cousin (really) to Bill Monroe, known historically as the “Father of Bluegrass,” Suzy found exposure to all kinds of music as a child – from piano lessons to school band, country songs to classical symphonies – but found herself leaning toward the popular rock of her generation as she formed a combo for local, live performances. As the lead vocalist, driving force and manager/agent/go-to gal of the band, Ultraviolet played the Illinois State Fair, county fairs, festivals, homecomings, private parties, bars and clubs. Now veteran musicians Duane Osborne (guitar, backing vocals), Joe Council (bass, backing vocals), Marty Kalaher (rhythm guitar, keyboardist, backing vocals) and Ric Bietsch (drums, backing vocals) join together with Suzie to continue the legacy. Expect to hear classic rock, pop, funk, country twists and a general assortment of good tunes done well with professionalism and pizazz, presented in a concert experience.
