See scenes and characters from beloved holiday stories come to life during “A Storybook Christmas” in downtown Hillsboro. The two-day holiday celebration hosted by Imagine Hillsboro runs 5-9 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturday. Meet beloved characters such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, the conductor of the Polar Express, Rudolph, Harry Potter, the Grinch, the Nutcracker and more during this seasonal spectacular. Other attractions include live performances by carolers, dancers and musicians; hot food and drinks for purchase; extended hours for many downtown businesses; and a vendor-driven shopping event at the Moose Lodge on both Friday and Saturday. Of special note on Friday is the annual Christmas parade at 6 p.m. followed by the community Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Of special note on Saturday is breakfast with Santa at the Moose Club from 8-10 a.m., visits with Santa at the Lincoln House, horse-drawn carriage rides from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., and complimentary showings of The Polar Express in The Orpheum Theatre at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For more information about “A Storybook Christmas,” visit http://imaginehillsboro.org.
