Springfield’s premier event devoted to the physical, emotional and financial health and well-being of women of all ages returns to the Illinois State Fairgrounds’ Orr Building this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival features more than 100 confirmed exhibitors covering topics such as education, finance, fitness, health, beauty, fashion and home décor. More than 20 free screenings will be offered, including screenings for anxiety and depression, blood sugar, body fat analysis and more. Other attractions include a 3D mammography unit, fitness-age testing, a Girls Love Mail booth where attendees can pen inspiring messages to recently diagnosed breast cancer patients, a Kids’ Corner, raffle drawings and more. Admission to the Be Aware Women’s Fair is $4, and free to children ages 12 and under. Proceeds from the fair support Memorial Medical Center Foundation’s breast cancer assistance fund, which helps to subsidize the basic needs of breast cancer patients and the varying costs associated with breast cancer and its treatment.
