FAIRS & FESTIVALS | Celebrate Sherman

The land between The Rail Golf Course and Business 55 in Sherman will be the site of Sherman’s Homecoming celebration this Friday and Saturday, July 8-9. The fun begins on Friday at 5 p.m. with a slew of artisans, crafters and sales vendors plus rides and games for children – all open for business both days of the festival. Friday’s highlights include entertainment by Wild Times Exotics and live music from The Shenanigans, 108th Street and The Brat Pack in the beer and community tents. The festival picks up bright and early Saturday morning with a Firecracker 5K at 8 a.m., a parade at 10, followed by a bags tournament, an Air Methods Saints Flight helicopter landing, exhibitions by the Sherman Fire Department, John Geyston’s Martial Arts Academy, Capital Elite/TNT Cheer and The Saint Andrew’s Society Celtic Dancers. Other Saturday highlights include a neon-glow dance party for pre-teens and teenagers plus live music by Broken Stone and Big Daddy Jasper in the beer tents.
