FOOD | A delicious comeback

On Thursday, May 12, the Illinois Products Farmers Market returns for a ninth year of food and fun. The three-hour night market takes place 4-7 p.m. every Thursday now through October 13. Weekly features include live music and entertainment on the Lincoln Stage, Illinois wine and beer, assorted food trucks plus vendors selling a wide variety of fresh Illinois produce and other processed, produced and otherwise made-in-Illinois products. All season long, title sponsor Springfield Clinic will offer marketgoers access to heath specialists, a healthy recipe of the week and other promotions. Lincoln Land Community College will offer healthy cooking demonstrations every first and third Saturday of the month. Admission to the Illinois Products Farmers Market is free, and the market accepts SNAP benefit cards plus senior and WIC coupons from the Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
