Experience the classic love story of Belle, a young woman stuck in a provincial town, and the Beast, a young prince trapped under an enchantress’ spell, when the touring Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast makes a stop at Sangamon Auditorium on Tuesday, May 17. Based off the 1991 animated Disney film, the Broadway iteration premiered in 1994 and has since been performed more than 15,000 times in 120 cities across 21 countries. The Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken includes favorites from the hit Disney film such as “Belle,” “Be Our Guest” and “Gaston” plus additional songs featuring lyrics by Tim Rice.
