According to Chicago Tribune reviewer Chris Jones, the quality and quantity of laughs in The Doyle and Debbie Show are comparable to those in Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s Book of Mormon. Set in a honky-tonk bar in Nashville, the performance mimics the format of an actual concert, with the characters interacting with the audience much as they would during a live musical performance.
