When Springfi eld native Julia Ann Cain got hitched last month, she did it in style – wearing the same dress her mother and grandmother each wore at their own weddings decades ago. Cain is an award-winning style blogger (ohjuliaann. com) who grew up in Springfi eld and now lives in St. Louis. Her grandmother’s wedding dress came from a Denver department store in 1953, and it was passed down to Cain’s mother for her wedding in 1983 – with a few alterations, of course. Cain’s family found the dress in her grandparents’ attic, and after some style updates, Cain wore it for her wedding in March. Naturally, Cain wrote about the dress on her blog, detailing how it went from being an offhand joke to the dress of her dreams. The story went viral, appearing in media around the world, including “Good Morning America.” To check out Cain’s blog post on the dress (and lots of great photos) go to bit.ly/dress3x.
