CLUBS & MEETINGS | Socialize for a cause

The Springfield Social Club is a philanthropic group that aims to provide social, cultural, altruistic and networking opportunities to local professionals of all ages. The club was formed in 2007 by Dave Martin and Jenny Waldinger. Springfield Social Club gatherings are held monthly at a local bar or restaurant. In lieu of club dues or an admission fee, attendees are asked to bring specific items from a charity wish list. The hosting restaurant/bar offers complimentary appetizers to SSC members in exchange for bar business. At the end of the evening, local bars and restaurants make revenue, a charity is helped and a good time is by all. This month’s Springfield Social Club gathering benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, whose wish list items are bottled water and granola bars.
