BULLETIN BOARD | A clean slate

Learn how criminal records can be expunged or sealed during a Criminal Record Expungement and Sealing Seminar. The free event is organized and supported by the Springfield NAACP, Springfield Urban League, Springfield Race Unity Committee, Springfield Housing Authority and many other organizations. Presenters include the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk, the expungement unit of the Illinois Appellate Defender’s Office, the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Illinois Prisoner Review Board and the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office. To get the most out of the seminar, attendees should know the crimes for which they were charged and convicted. It is suggested that attendees who have a criminal record stemming from an incident in Sangamon County bring a copy of their criminal disposition record.
