Based out of South City, St. Louis, CaveofswordS travels in otherworldly ways in the sound sphere, spending time in advancing the cause of art, dance, poetry and music. Calling their genre DubWave, band mates Sunyatta, Eric, Zagk and KVN develop sincere electronic music full of mood-manipulating sounds and image-based lyrics. Defying categorization but encouraging participation from the listener, as opposed to some electronica that seems determined to drive away anyone close enough to hear, CaveofswordS is soothing on the outside but satisfyingly disturbing with introspection. Using moody, reverb-soaked, electronic music well-defined by live drums, guitars and bass while highlighted by Sunyatta’s eerily familiar voice, the band transports listeners to a space of eavesdropping where reality and dreamland happily converge. On the last leg of their nine-date Astro Projection summer tour, the combo continues spreading the word on the new recording, Sigils, available now on Boxing Clever Records, finishing the live music run with at show at the Duck Room in University City, St. Louis before a few weeks break until they hit the pavement again.
