THEATRE/COMEDY | A macabre musical The kookiest, spookiest family around takes residency at the Hoogland Center for the Arts Aug. 28-30 and Sept. 4-6. The Addams Family, written by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, features an original story based on the 1964 television series and the 1991 movie, both of which were spawned by the caricatures of cartoonist Charles Addams. Wednesday Addams has fallen love with a nice, normal, respectable young man from a good family – one that her parents have never met. She tells her father, Gomez, but begs him to keep the news a secret from her mother, Morticia. The family plans a dinner for the “normal” boyfriend and his family; they couldn’t have planned anything that happens next. Tickets for The Addams Family musical can be purchased in advance online at http://hcfta.org, or by calling the box office at 523-2787.
