ART | New faces in a familiar place The Prairie Art Alliance presents a gallery show resulting from the first-ever group of artists from its Emerging Artists Program. The goal of the program is to further the professional development of new artistic talent and prepare artists to successfully navigate the art world. This is achieved by pairing fresh-to-the-scene artists with veteran PAA exhibitors in one-on-one mentoring relationships. Topics covered include preparing for exhibitions, marketing in the art world, learning to critique their own work and accepting criticism of their work. The program culminates in the Emerging Artist Exhibit which features artworks in a variety of media by Immanuel Ahiable, Julie Alessandrini-Costa, Cathy Ganschinietz, Wiley Jenkins, Laura Mulvey, David Ross and Doug Wagner. The exhibit will be held in conjunction with “Tranquil + Vibrant,” featuring works by current PAA members. Both exhibitions will be on display during gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 12-7 p.m., through Oct. 8. For more information, visit http://prairieart.org. See also
