BAND SPOTLIGHT | DJ Hish

This may be the first (and possibly the last) time an official record-spinning, mix-making, beat-inducing DJ makes our band spotlight. But DJ Hish does something different than most mixers out there: he mashes to country music. Born into a music-loving household in Pennsylvania, Hish grew up listening to classic country and rock, plus everything in between. Mixing music by age 12, he gained acclaim as a house and hip-hop mix man during his college years in Chicago. After a move to Nashville to become a country songwriter, the word got out he could really DJ well. Soon he put the thump on established country tunes adding dance beats to the likes of Merle Haggard songs and garnering more than 39,000 plays on his Luke Bryan remix of “My Kinda Night.” Hish (you can call him Josh) now tours across the country, warming up the crowd for guys like up and coming new country act, Chase Bryant.
