BAND SPOTLIGHT | Kilborn Alley Blues Band The blues came to visit a young Andrew Duncanson, and he answered the call of the crossroads. In high school, the singing blues guitarist’s chance meeting with Josh Stimmel over a Jimi Hendrix T-shirt led to the gradual formation of Kilborn Alley. With Chris Breen on bass and veteran drummer Ed O’Hara completing the current lineup for the four-piece, classic blues band, they head into their 15th year of existence, rapidly approaching gig number 2000 while continuing to climb as one of the best blues bands anywhere. Don’t take our word for it, though. Twice nominated for prestigious Blues Music Awards (2006 for best New Blues Band and 2007 for best Contemporary Blues Album), the group continues to receive accolades from all the finest blues sources for reviews and awards in both live performance and recorded output. From U.S. and European tours to Iron Post shows in hometown Urbana, this blues band plays for keeps and keeps playing, out to expose the heart and soul of the blues with power and respect. See also
