NATURE | Save our species

Celebrate the biodiversity of Illinois at the Illinois State Museum on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event is designed to raise awareness for the wide variety of plant and animal species in our state and highlight those species that have made a triumphant return from near-extinction. Children will enjoy searching for current threatened and endangered species in the museum’s Changes exhibition, designing their own conservation magnet and playing games that demonstrate the different ways we can help protect endangered species and their environments. Do not miss the Illinois Raptor Center’s live presentations at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for a rare opportunity to see a bald eagle, barn owl, short-eared owl and peregrine falcon up close and personal.
