DANCE | Feet first

Springfield Ballet Company presents a merging of ballet, modern jazz and other dance styles with classic rock from 1975-76 during Rockballet, Sept. 13-14, at Sangamon Auditorium UIS. Featuring live music by the eight-piece band Downstate, two productions showcase talent from the company and special guests. Guest choreographers include Hernan Justo and Francesca Genovese, Carolina Ballet Theatre; Elizabeth Chapman, The Georgia Ballet and SBC alumni; Todd Kiech, Chicago-based actor and choreographer; Elizabeth Staab, Chicago-based dancer and SBC alumni; and Herman Payne, graduate of The Julliard School and associate artistic directoar of Broadway Theatre Project; as well as local choreographers Gina DeCroix Russell, Tiffany Riech and Gary Shull.
