FESTIVAL | Be corny

Local, fresh sweet corn – That’s the tasty draw to the Chatham Sweet Corn Festival held at Chatham Community Park, southeast of the square, this weekend, July 18-19.

But there’s so much more going on and lots of other food for purchase, such as ribeye and barbecue sandwiches. New this year is a craft beer wagon. Returning but always fun is the Illinois Championship Cow Chip Throw taking place Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. Other activities include a soccer tournament, trivia, kid’s area, great music each night and blues music from noon until 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
