Naturalists Michael Jeffords and Sue Post will present a program on their newest book Exploring Nature in Illinois: A Field Guide to the Prairie State, foreword by Illinois Audubon Society Executive Director Tom Clay (University of Illinois Press, 2014). The 280-page book, loaded with color photographs and evocative descriptions of 50 of the state’s forests, preserves, prairies and parks and its wildlife, will be available for purchase. Jeffords is retired education/ outreach director for the Illinois Natural History Survey and was staff photographer for The Illinois Steward magazine. Susan Post is a retired INHS research scientist and was staff writer for The Illinois Steward magazine, and author of Hiking Illinois.
