The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency board is a familiar creature that has existed for decades; the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Advisory

Board was set up before the institution opened but was dormant until 2012, when Gov. Pat Quinn, who appoints the IHPA board, appointed members to the advisory panel. Here’s a look at who serves on the boards.

IHPA board Chairwoman Sunny Fischer. Fischer was executive director of The Richard Driehaus Foundation in Chicago from 1992 through 2013.

Daniel J. Arnold. Arnold is the founder and owner of Road Ranger service stations.

Julia Bachrach. Bachrach is historian and preservationist for the Chicago Park District.

Jeanie Cooke. Cooke is employed by the Danville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and manages a collegiate baseball team that plays in a summer league.

Melinda Spitzer Johnson. Johnson worked for the Chicago History Museum from 1999 until 2006, when she became curator of digital and visual resources for the Harvard Law School Library.

Gary L. Hammons. A former member of the presidential library advisory board, Hammons is a retired engineer who also serves on the Oak Ridge Cemetery Board.

Ted Flickinger. The retired president and CEO of the Illinois Association of Park Districts, Flickinger also sits on the Springfi eld Park District Board.

Advisory board Chairman Steven Beckett. Beckett is a University of Illinois law professor who also maintains a private law practice.

Leigh Buchanan Bienen. Bienen is a criminal defense attorney who lectures at the Northwestern University School of Law and has taught law at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California Berkeley.

Charles Russell Branham. Branham is a history professor at the University of Chicago.

Donna Carroll. Carroll is the president of Dominican University in River Forest.

Ranjan Karri. Karri is an associate professor of management in the College of Business and Management at University of Illinois Springfi eld.

Richard Meister. Meister is the retired executive vice president of academic affairs at DePaul University.

Patrick Reardon. Reardon is a retired journalist who worked at the Chicago Tribune.

Richard Craig Sautter. Sautter is an author who teaches at DePaul University.

Sean Vinck. Vinck is chief information offi cer for the State of Illinois and former chief legislative counsel and chief of intergovernmental affairs for Gov. Quinn.

Paula Kaufman. Kaufman is librarian for the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

David Spadafora. Spadafora is president of the Newberry Library in Chicago.
