BAND SPOTLIGHT | After Sunset

An advantage of bringing together experienced members to form a new band is the immediate set list gained from finding a common ground through previously learned music. The combination of Rod Grant (lead vocals), Dave Coonrod (keyboards, vocals), Mike Prehoda (bass), Rod VanSandt (guitar, vocals) and Jeff Loftus (drums, vocals) coming from popular local bands such as Area 51, Late Arrival, The Rejuvenilz and Screamin’ Vatos, makes After Sunset an excellent, well-suited, party band for all occasions with a diverse and strong song list. Grant won Illinois Times’ Best of Springfield Male Vocalist category two years in a row a few years back and the other players have done the fun, yet hard work of getting good as well. Hear them perform tunes from the likes of Bon Jovi, Journey, Matchbox 20, Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Bruno Mars, Styx, INXS, Hall and Oates and many more over the next few months at the Curve Inn, Blue Grouch and Boondocks, plus a special appearance at the Fat Ass 5K.
