BIG GIFTS

The Christmas season may be over, but the gifts keep on coming.

Alignlife, a new chiropractic clinic in Springfi eld, announced on Jan. 8 that its patients collected 61 toys during the holidays to donate to the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, located at 1011 N. Seventh St. in Springfi eld. The nursery aims to prevent child abuse by offering free, temporary child care for families in crisis. They take kids from birth through six years, and they’re open around the clock every day of the week. Alignlife gave out discounts totaling about $3,000 to patients who donated during its toy drive. Meanwhile, Springfi eld Clinic announced this month that they’ll celebrate their 75th anniversary by donating to a different nonprofi t or charity each month during 2014. The clinic is calling this their “Mission: GIVE75” campaign, and they plan to donate items from each chosen organization’s wish list. Nominate an organization here: bit.ly/1iOCjmE. Springfi eld Clinic also recently donated $50,000 to the Kidzeum of Health and Science project in Springfi eld. The gift came from the clinic’s Orthopedic Group and will help fund the “Femur Rock Climb” within the Healthy Body exhibit once the museum is opened. Kidzeum is currently seeking donations to reach its $6.5 million goal before it begins construction in a vacant building on Adams Street in downtown Springfi eld.
