The 27th annual Greater Downstate Indoor Bluegrass Music Festival returns to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Nov. 8-10. Six concerts are scheduled for Friday at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday at 10 a.m. Artists include Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, seven-time International Bluegrass Music Association’s Vocal Group of the Year winners; seven-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Rhonda Vincent and Rage; and Balsam Range, winners of album of the year 2013. Other activities include a guitar trade show, open stage talent showcase, vendors and instrument workshops presented by Andy Hatfield and Chris Talley Armstrong.
