BAND SPOTLIGHT | Whiskey of the Damned Take an Irishman, drop him in Milwaukee and let him go wild in a Celtic-influenced rock band, and that’s Whiskey of the Damned. With Eoin McCarthy (guitar, vocal), Blaine McQuinn (fiddle, bagpipes, banjo, vocals), Michael Favaro (accordion), Tim McQuinn (drums, bodhran) and Chaughn Hoffman (bass, vocals) knocking out the music, these guys went from bar band to local legends, and on to opening for major Celtic bands coming through Milwaukee, plus playing the revered and amazing Milwaukee Irish Fest. Described as “high energy” doing “raucous concerts” with their “infectious brand of Irish punk, Milwaukee style,” they play original tunes like “Devil’s Parade” and “Burn Your Suicide Notes,” blazing a trail with traditional instruments of both Irish and Americana music, forming a particular style well suited to the drinking and thinking class. Hide the children, disguise the women, bury the treasure and drink all the booze before they hit town and storm the stage. See also
