  MOTORCYCLES | See them A.B.A.T.E. (A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education) of Illinois motorcycle organization has a ride planned for Sunday, May 5, for motorcycle awareness month. The ride starts at the Illinois Department of Transportation parking lot. There will be food, beverages and A.B.A.T.E. products available for purchase between 8 a.m. until the group leaves at 1 p.m. All motorcycles and vehicles are invited to join the procession. No alcohol is allowed at this function. Stuffed animals eight inches or smaller will be collected for kids in need. The ride will end at the Illinois State Capitol building west parking lot. Saturday, the evening prior, the local chapter will hold a pre-rally party at Northender’s VFW located behind Hall’s Harley-Davidson. Two bands are scheduled to play – Polarity at 4 p.m. and The Suicide Shifters of Bloomington at 8 p.m. – and games, a bonfire and motorcycle displays are planned for outside.
