BAND SPOTLIGHT | SPREAD

From origins as a college jam band formed at SIU-Carbondale in 2008 of friends drawn together by intellectual and interesting likes, SPREAD continues in a progressive march across the Midwest sharing magic in music with audiences everywhere. Creating delightful musical mayhem through improvisational stylings with space-intensive, psychedelic rock leanings, Patrick Reynolds (drums, vocals), Dave Petrizzo (guitar, vocals), Colin Finn (bass, vocals) and Steven Kaufman (keys, vocals) now base the show out of Chicago with forays all over the place as diverse and dynamic as the music they produce. Playing well-known regional festivals such as Summer Camp and Tall Tree Lake since 2010, the band consistently performs in well-respected venues delivering original material with “carefully selected covers and a mass of spontaneous improvisation” while specializing in captivating the audience using multimedia effects to complement the one-of-akind energizing musical experience.
