Publisher’s note I remember the back-to-school frenzy of early August, when finding new “cool” jeans, a stylish backpack and a fresh crop of No. 2 pencils were the biggest problems I faced as a mom. Since more than half of IT readers have school-aged kids at home and many more are aunts, uncles and grandparents who play an important part in those young lives, we tucked a new publication into your IT this week - Capital City Parent. Among its features: teaching kids to deal with bullies, adventurous outings around central Illinois and helping your favorite child learn to handle (and safeguard) money. For those taller kids just beginning the odyssey into post-high school education, there’s some practical advice about choosing a college that will fit like a glove. We’ll be publishing CC Parent quarterly – the next edition in early November. Let us know what you think. —Sharon Whalen, publisher See also
