Rock veterans Joie Calio and Phil Leavitt decided one day to wander from their successful venture known as dada, a group responsible for popularly known songs like “Dizz Knee Land” and “All I Am” and take a hike to another land. Trading music bits while using odd phrases like “Methlab Zoso Sticker” and “Blackjack Moon,” the longtime bandmates went for the rocking world of riff-laden sounds latent in the old rock and roll credos and found a new lease on a musical life. Within three impromptu recording sessions, the two formulated coarse and vital songs from sketches and impulses based on gut reactions of a duo well in tune to each other’s notions, both searching for a faraway land of music never before broached. The sonic palette is raucous, raw, on the spot and gripping. As the CD Let the 7Horse Run evolved, Calio and Leavitt took the music somewhere under the rainbow and left it there just for fun.
