MUSIC | Poetic spellbinder

Some music you like instantly at first listen. Such is the sound and lyrics of Jeffrey Foucault. Check it out for yourself on his website. Better yet, hear Foucault in person Saturday, Apr. 28 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. A blend of intoxicating country/folk with the occasional Southern rock-Lynyrd Skynyrd twist, Foucault is the real deal. A poetic spellbinder, he is a soft and sober Morrison, a smooth and silky Dylan. You might surprise yourself how fast you buy his latest album, Horse Latitudes. This proves to be a great UIS Bedrock 66 Series concert, as Lydia Loveless opens the show. Her debut release, Indestructible Machine, garnered favorable reviews from Rhapsody, LA Times, CBS news and SPIN Magazine, where it ranked #4 on their 2011 Top 20 Country/Americana Albums of the Year.
