CAP Hockey has a reputation as a pretty CITY tough game. Any sport in which referees let the players fight until someone ends up on the ice isn’t for the weak. (At one Boston Bruins game in 1979, Bruins players climbed over the glass at Madison Square Garden and fought several New York Rangers fans.) And while you probably won’t see many brawls at the Springfield Jr. Blues’ hockey games, you may see some attire not usually associated with toughness. The Jr. Blues will wear pink jerseys during their game on Saturday against the Topeka Roadrunners. After the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off, and proceeds throughout the night will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Bids start at $100, and anyone interested can even arrange a proxy bidder if unable to make the game by calling Heather Dhom at 415-7854 or emailing heather.dhom@jrblues.com. Saturday’s game at the Nelson Center, 1601 N. Fifth St., starts at 7 p.m. and is part of a double-header beginning Friday against the Roadrunners. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and military service members.
