DOGS | Walk to heal Saturday, Aug. 20, the American Cancer Society wants to honor service and family dogs that provide love and companionship for cancer patients and their families, while raising money for local efforts. Some of the fun activities at this walk event include an extreme K-9 dog training demo, musical sit competition, doggy costume contest, dog and owner look-alike contest and stupid pet tricks. You can walk even if you don’t own a dog. Though not a requirement, participants are asked to raise a certain amount of funds toward the fight against cancer.
