ENVIRONMENT | Earth Day party

In its 19th year of celebrating and educating citizens of every age, this free fair put on by CWLP and the city of Springfield is a must visit on May 7, as is the new Southwind Park and Erin’s Pavilion, Springfield’s only Platinum LEED-certified building. Approximately 30 organizations with an environmental message to share will present information and activities on recycling, energy efficiency, native plants, local and organic food, water conservation and more. Here’s your chance to see what green products, programs and services are available locally. There will be giveaways, crafts, games, live music, a decorated refrigerator contest and concessions. Need a ride? Free bus rides to and from Southwind Park will be provided by Springfield Mass Transit every hour from 10:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Stop A at Fifth and Capitol is the downtown drop-off and pick-up location.
