BAND SPOTLIGHT | The Backliners

With a set list filled with songs that your average rocker already knows and loves, The Backliners easily achieve the self-proclaimed aspiration of being “all about having a good time” and “getting the crowd out on the dance floor.” A sample set list includes classics like Steppenwolf’s Born to be Wild, Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy and Cheap Trick’s Surrender along with more modern pop rock like Weezer’s Beverly Hills, Lit’s My Own Worst Enemy and In the Middle by Jimmy Eat World plus hits by REM, Alice in Chains, Gin Blossoms, and other popular radio-rock bands. With new drummer Brandon Backs on board, Brent Sperry (lead guitar), Greg Harvey (bass & vocals) and Steve Harvey (guitar & vocals) continue the pace from 2010 when they played area clubs with regularity plus did special events including the Sangamon County Fair Miller ROC Tent, Memorial Day Weekend Bikini Contest at the Curve Inn and the Capital City Celebration on the 4th of July in downtown Springfield.
