ART | Intelligent design

Make sure to visit Robert Morris Gallery, downtown, in the next month or two as local legend Jeff Williams exhibits new paintings dealing with a range of subject matters such as automatons, bike awareness and environmental issues. Artist first, inspired at a young age by Springfield Art Association art lessons and a graphic designer grandfather and his employee, Route 66 art icon Bob Waldmire, Williams is perhaps best known as the musician from the popular and successful band, NIL8, who toured the country opening for some very famous acts. But palette in hand and art degree in pocket, Williams refocuses on his love of visual color and form. Besides RMG, his work is currently on display at the National Art Museum of Sport in Indianapolis and has shown at other galleries in Indianapolis and St. Louis, including winning best of show at the 2009 SPOKED art show at Soulard Art Gallery.
