Jessica Jolly and Nate Blesse started an acoustic duo a few years back to get experience playing out and give the world a chance to experience Jessica’s original songs. Drummer Robert Burtnett joined in late 2009 and the trio played “more than a few gigs in the area and abroad,” but the group solidified as a unit when bassist Dylan Burns came aboard in mid-2010. Achievements include performances at Bedrock 66 Live!, Taste of Downtown’s American Music Show and upcoming highlights involve opening for Backyard Tire Fire at Marly’s Oct. 15 and a slot at the Hoogland’s Third Floor Music Festival Oct. 23. While opening for Miss Mary Ann and the Ragtime Wranglers on Saturday, Jodyboss debuts a self-recorded and self-produced six-song CD of Jessica originals arranged and performed by the band. In a bold and enticing invitation not to be taken lightly, the band truly wishes to “encourage people to ask us what the deal is with our name.”
