Pioneer fun

Meet the future Clayville Inn (pictured). The old stagecoach stop and first brick building in Sangamon County is part of a small historic village and site of the Clayville Spring Festival May 22-23. This promises to be an exciting two-day walk down history lane and all-around fun time all for ages with demonstrations, exhibits, tours, music, games, food and more. The schedule includes: stagecoach rides, children’s carnival, pony rides, kids air-brush tattoo artist, craft/antique vendors, civil war re-enactors, 20minute musical performances all day, world champion whip cracker and much more, including surprises. Additional charges apply for some activities. Bands take the beer tent stage Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
