Access 4, Springfield’s public access TV channel, has been blank since December, but it’s not dead yet. In fact, a handful of the channel’s producers are working double time to get shows back on the air. As you’d expect, getting a TV channel on air takes money, so the Access 4 producers are holding a fundraiser featuring local talent to get the ball rolling. Producer Ted Keylon says it’s going to be a big bash, with six live music acts and even some stand-up comedy from Springfield comedian Alan Perry. Local rap artist Mike Sullivan will deliver some blazing rhymes, with local bands Flatland, Dead Zebbra, Rebel Bass, The Regulars, and Sam West rounding out the evening. More bands are being recruited, as well. The best thing is, the event is FREE! How can a fundraiser be free? The producers will have a table at the party to accept donations and give information about getting involved with Access 4. (Ever thought of having your own TV show?) The fundraiser is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Feb. 19 at Broadway Nites bar, 210 Broadway St. Admission is free, of course, but remember to bring your wallet or purse if you want to support the cause.
