We are always practicing. It never amazes me when you get a case where trying to figure it out with diagnosis as well as trial and error can turn your hair gray. Many times luck can play a part in your success.

Recently a customer brought in his 2002 Ford F250 4 x 4 with a clunking sensation from the drive line during stopping and starting. The vehicle was checked out by a transmission shop before bringing it to my attention. Over time, the problem seemed to become more severe. Being curious and determined to find a cure, I researched this issue with Ford and after a few attempts, the problem was solved. It appears that in the middle of the drive line near the carrier bearing at the slip yoke, it looses it’s packing. So, the drive line slides further into the spline. By repacking the slip yoke with the proper duralube, the problem is cured.
