Geaux 4 Kids–Project Geaux Bags celebrated 10 years at East Ridge Country Club May 1. Geaux has helped over 15,000 children in crisis. Speakers include Dr. Dana Hunter, Executive Director, Governor’s Office of Human Trafficking Prevention; Chief Judge Blair Downing Edwards, Division I–21st Judicial District Court; and Emily Ward, National Champion, and LSU Women’s Basketball Team.

The Norwela Council, Boy Scouts of America, hosted its inaugural Celebrity Waiter Dinner on March 23 at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino. The Kinsey family of Shreveport was honored for community service. Kinsey family members have been recognized on the local, regional and national levels for their work in delivering Scouting to youth across Northwest Louisiana. The Norwela Council’s 1,800-acre camp is named the Kinsey Scout Reservation in memory of the late Norman Kinsey. Chef Blake Jackson put together a campfire-inspired menu. Each table had a faux campfire centerpiece and swag. – Mary Ann Van Osdell
