Founded in 1922, Shriners Children’s Shreveport was the first facility established in the Shriners Children’s system. Originally designed to care for children with polio and congenital orthopedic conditions, the facility has continually adapted and evolved over decades of service to encompass the full range of pediatric orthopedic conditions, orthopedic injuries, sports medicine, and cleft lip and palate. The mission that began in a modest downtown Shreveport physician’s office has provided worldclass care to a global population of tens of thousands of children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

Our pediatric orthopedic specialists are uniquely skilled in providing insight into routine and complicated orthopedic conditions, from clubfoot and intoeing issues to cerebral palsy and spine conditions. The same doctors who innovate treatments for the most complicated orthopedic issues will help to ensure your child is growing and developing properly. Minimally invasive methodologies such as our EOS low radiation imaging system and our Schroth Barcelona-based treatment for moderate scoliosis help protect our kids and reduce the need for surgeries.

With programs geared toward sports medicine and orthopedic injuries, our physicians and other healthcare professionals help kids prevent and recover from mild to complex orthopedic injuries. When injuries do occur, our fracture team offers the insight necessary to address the physiology of a developing child, helping kids safely and confidently return to the field.

Our oral and maxillofacial program involves a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, dental specialists, care managers and therapists in providing education and care to children with cleft and craniofacial conditions. Children with low to moderate craniofacial conditions receive comprehensive care from our team of specialists, who work closely with our families to foster and maximize the social, physical, and psychological development of our kids.
