Jimmy Mays & Tanner Mays, owners and chefs of Jimbeaux’s & Son, are serving locals one delicious plate at a time.

Jimbeaux's & Son has been open for three years. “As cliché as it may sound, my favorite part of my job is knowing I contributed to a great meal and experience,” Jimmy Mays said. “Creating dishes in the kitchen, experimentation and refining recipes…it’s all part of what we do, and we love it all.”

Jimbeaux’s & Son offers mostly “Southern comfort food.” “Our signature dishes are our real South Louisiana Jambalaya, catfish with our homemade fish fry, shrimp po’boys, and huge cheeseburgers and fries,” Mays said. “We have people that keep up with our food truck just for the fries!” But that’s not all. “You can't forget about the shrimp and grits, now,” Mays said. “Our Shrimp, Tasso & Corn Maque Choux is a perfect complement to those creamy grits.”

More than just a restaurant, Jimbeaux’s & Son’s catering and food truck is also a big part of their business, which reaches out to hundreds of people locally. “Over the next few years, we hope to have more than one location open for lunch and dinner along with our food truck and catering,” Mays said.

Jimbeaux’s & Son grew faster than they had anticipated. “We started by just making plate lunches for small businesses, car dealerships and such, but we eventually grew too big for the house kitchen!” Mays said. “We were blessed to come across the restaurant and food truck simultaneously. We’ve been cookin’ ever since.”
