Local brides this spring are saying yes to the dress — and “I do” to Brianna Belton Design, LLC.
Brianna
Belton, owner and creator of Brianna Belton Design, LLC, is a designer
extraordinaire who offers full-service wedding planning. “We provide
everything from start to finish, from the event design to the
boutique-style fresh florals,” Belton said. Outside of weddings, her
company also offers interior styling for residential and business
locations.
“My
favorite part of my job is my client’s wedding day,” Belton said.
“After months of planning and getting to know my client, it’s so
exciting to see our vision and all the details come to life. To be able
to experience and celebrate their most special day with them is so
rewarding. It never feels like a job, because we are crazy about what we
do!” Belton, an Arkansas gal who married a Louisiana boy almost 16
years ago, has always loved love — and planning! She gets her
business-savvy honestly. “My dad has always been an entrepreneur, and my
mother was creative, so it all began when I was young,” Belton said.
“I’ve always loved anything creative. It started out as a hobby before becoming a fulltime business.”
Belton
is always on the look out for current trends for her clients. “Wedding
trends right now include smaller, intimate weddings that are packed with
personal details, timeless styling and beautiful simplicity,” Belton
said. This carries over into the design.
“Weddings
lately are all about embracing more color, unique color palettes, and
incorporating pattern and texture,” Belton advised. “Also, larger floral
installations are popular.”
Some
of those color trends include the pairing of classic styles with
neutrals. “Dusty and muted tones for seasonal florals and for the
bridesmaids’ dresses are big right now,” Belton said.
Other
current wedding fads include the use of velvet, custom illustrations
and detailed paper goods, food boards and more. “It’s all about bringing
the indoors out,” Belton said. “Also, non-traditional florals,
non-traditional bridesmaids’ dresses, and setting plants and herbs on
tables are all new design trends we’ve been seeing.”
And
that’s not all! “Rustic themes, fake flowers, baby’s breath
centerpieces, nakedstyle wedding cakes and flower crowns are also
trending. I could keep going and going!” Belton laughed.
But
the details aren’t worth much if there’s no location. Gone are the
traditional days of marrying inside a local church. Now, brides are
searching for a space intimate enough to provide the environment they
want, but large enough to accommodate their loved ones.
“With
venues becoming so increasingly popular, more brides are choosing
venues over a church,” Belton said. “White or solid tone venues are
always a go-to, as it provides a clean slate and is transitional in
accommodating different styles. Barns are a big trend here in Louisiana,
too.”
When
it comes to music, trends might come and go, but the personal style of
the bride and groom still rules. “I’ve always said the music will make
or break the feel of
the event, especially at the reception,” Belton said. “I’ll always love
strings for a ceremony and a band for a reception! But it really all
depends on the couple’s personal style and preference, and the general
feel of the reception.”
Brides
and grooms should feel zero pressure these days to impress and should
stick with what they personally enjoy. After all, it’s their day. “There
are really no rules to weddings anymore,” Belton said.
Brianna
Belton Design, LLC has been in business approximately five years and
will soon be celebrating their first year of being in their new downtown
studio in Shreveport. She hopes to see her business thrive for years to
come as she continues to serve local brides.
“My
husband and I pray for continued growth and success for our business,
and to travel and experience weddings in other areas,” Belton said. “We
are both dreamers and creatives, so we have so many new ideas we hope to
execute!” Her business venture has brought a few fun surprises along
the way, as well. “We recently had the opportunity to plan and execute a
beautiful wedding for a couple that was there for me during one of my
biggest life moments – the doctor and delivery nurse for my son,” Belton
said.
Their
son is now almost 6 years old. “He was born 10 days before our 10th
wedding anniversary,” Belton. “We also have a dog, Scout, who is the
friendliest Goldendoodle you’ll ever meet. I love spending time with my
family, working in the yard, traveling and just being inspired!” For
