A tobacco cessation program designed to help individuals stop tobacco use and dependence. $30. Registration required.

Joint Replacement Camp

Designed for those who are considering or who have scheduled total hip or total knee replacement surgery. The Willis-Knighton Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute offers participants insight into the joint replacement process, from pre-admission planning to surgery, follow-up and rehabilitation. Reservations required.

Women RISE

Recover, Inform, Support, and Empower

This biweekly support group is for women with cancer. Our open format group allows you to share personal experiences and learn from others. The focus is on empowerment, stress management and developing healthy, effective ways to cope with cancer-related issues. Speakers will be invited based on the topics the group chooses.

Heart to Heart – Women’s Cardiovascular Support Group

4th Floor: Social Services Department This support group helps patients and their loved ones deal with emotional needs or struggles and other challenges faced by patients with cancer.

Men to Men: Brain Train or 'Chemo Brain'

Wednesday, Sept. 26, Noon

2nd Floor Conference Room Donesa Walker, M.Ed., will discuss cancer-induced cognitive impairment, or “chemo brain.” She will offer fun, challenging mental exercises customized to address the needs and abilities of each patient. The goal is to strengthen foundational cognitive skills that enable patients to think, learn, read, remember, pay attention and solve problems.

Look Good, Feel Better

4th Floor: Social Services Department This two-hour, hands-on workshop includes a 12-step skin care/make-up application lesson, demonstration of nail techniques and options for dealing with hair loss. Patients also use and take home complimentary cosmetic kits in their appropriate skin tones with helpful instruction booklets.

40 Minus: A Plus for Young Adults Living with Cancer

4th Floor: Social Services Department A professionally facilitated peer group designed for young adults in the Ark-La-Tex, age 40 or younger who are living with cancer. This group provides an opportunity for patients and their loved ones to discuss the emotional challenges and other concerns often faced by patients with cancer.

Sew It Goes: Vintage Quilts and Their Stories
