The Caddo-Bossier Cancer Foundation League’s sixth annual Kentucky Derby Party was beautifully decorated at the Provenance home of Dr. and Mrs. Chris Shelby on May 6. An arch of red roses greeted guests, who when checking in could buy a $20 souvenir mint julep cup to get free refills and keep the cup. Many women broke out their brightest hats. The group is dedicated to making life easier for patients undergoing treatment for cancer and provides such assistance as transportation, lodging and personal items. They will also be creating Christmas baskets for patients. Willis-Knighton Health Systems was the trophy sponsor.
