While it’s been said that water and electricity don’t mix, that’s not stopping LCR from expanding beyond plumbing, and “jumping in the deep end of the pool” with lighting.

Beginning in September, LCR will offer a full range of lighting products to go along with their plumbing fixtures.

“We’re excited about this new venture,” says one of their showroom professionals, Kristina Hatfield. “It’ll be great for our customers to be able to walk in and select their lighting along with their plumbing.”

Already a top producer in plumbing with lines such as Kohler, Delta, and Brizo, LCR is confident that their lighting manufacturer partners will quickly see them demonstrate strong success in the lighting arena.

“We already have the largest selection of inventory on hand for Kohler in this area,” manager Roderick Johnson boasts. “We plan to have the same in regards to lighting.”

With lines such as Hunter Fans, Z-Lite, and Luminescence, LCR will provide shoppers with numerous choices, and make the homeowner’s process of selecting fixtures for new homes and remodels easy! Eliminating an extra stop is nothing short of beneficial for everyone.

“It will be so much nicer for everyone… Just to walk into one place and be able to select two important aspects of your project… Vanity lights sit directly above a lavatory faucet - Our customers will be able to match products without having to guess if the color is correct or taking samples to other places to find what they need. They’ll be able to do it all here!” expert showroom consultant Melody English says.

While plumbing fixtures have always been an area of strength for LCR, this will not be the first experience with lighting for this showroom team. Kristina Hatfield and Holly Donaldson have both successfully sold lighting in the past.

“With the experience and knowledge Kristina Hatfield , Holly Donaldson, Melody English, & Cindy Dunn we have from selling lighting in the past, I’m excited to watch the growth we experience as a team,” says Holly Donaldson, expert showroom consultant.

In the last year and a half, LCR has seen more and more customers reward them with an opportunity to supply their needs. They’ve added more plumbing inventory to keep up with this demand, as well as a heavy stock of ceiling fans and lighting fixtures.

“We want the homeowner to be able to come straight to us,” Roderick Johnson adds. “With the stock we have on hand and the knowledge of our sales staff, we want the overall experience to be one that keeps our customers coming back.”

Here’s a secret LCR can’t keep to itself: LCR is also the only showroom to display lights from locals James and Rick Carmody and their company, Copper Works Lighting. Locally designed and built, these lanterns can be custom-made to fit any style or need. “What’s great about working with them is that if our customer has a specific look in mind, we can bring it to them and in turn, they bring it to life,” Holly Donaldson says. From gas to electric, indoor or outdoor, Copper Works can turn any look into something worthy of your home.

And making people feel at home is what LCR’s does best – from the smell of fresh cookies (baked twice daily) to the beverage station stocked with gourmet coffee and soft drinks, this “Welcome Home” atmosphere is apparent from the moment you walk in the door. “We want our customers to be relaxed when they are here. So much goes into building or remodeling… If we can give them a chance to just sit back for a few minutes with a cookie and a drink and not feel so overwhelmed with it all, then we feel like we’ve done our job.” Cindy Dunn, showroom administrative assistant, says with a smile.

And doing their job is what these folks do best. They take extreme pride in helping their customers create the right look for the bathrooms and kitchens.

“Trends are changing so fast,” Kristina Hatfield says. “A few years ago we were doing so much of the bronze and earthy tones and now we’re seeing so much of the chrome and even the brass families making a comeback.”

“It’s refreshing,” says Melody English. “To see the changing of the trends. And to be able to extend those trends to lighting; we’re all looking forward to taking this next step.”

With their customers at the forefront of their minds, LCR is determined to make selecting fixtures one that doesn’t overwhelm their customers.

“Our main objective is to ensure our customers are comfortable and have a pleasant experience,” Cindy Dunn adds.

There is no doubt these professionals are committed to their customers and to their work. It shows in the time and effort they put into each job that they handle.

LCR is located at 235 Lynbrook Ave, Shreveport, LA 71106. They are always open on Monday-Thursday from 8-5 and on Friday’s from 8-4. If you have a special need, please call for an appointment – I’m sure you’ll find them eager to help!
