Tickets are on sale now for the PACE’s 8th North Louisiana Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. It will be held on Sept. 9-15 at the Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport. The festival features LGBT-themed documentaries, short films, feature films and short films, and will also boast a big reception, along with panels, Q&A and other surprises.

On opening night Sept. 9, the featured film begins at 7:30 p.m. and is titled “Suicide Kale,” with a special appearance from the film’s writer, producer and star, Brittani Nichols, who is known for her role in the Emmy-winning series “Transparent.”

There will be a reception from 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 10, featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar and will feature the film “Small Town Rage: Fighting Back in the Deep South.” Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet with filmmakers David Hylan and Raydra Hall. A panel discussion will follow the viewing.

On Sept. 11: “Other People,” the Sundance and Outfest favorite, will screen at 9:45 p.m. Friday and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. This film was written and directed by Chris Kelly, and stars Molly Shannon, Jesse Plemons and Bradley Whitford. “Other People” will also screen at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13.

A complete list of films throughout the festival include: “Closet Monster,” “First Girl I Loved,” “Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party,” “Other People,” “Suicide Kale,” “Women Who Kill,” “Memories of a Penitent Heart,” “Real Boy,” “Small Town Rage,” “Suited,” “11 Life Lessons from an Awesome Old Dyke,” “After the Mass,” “Peace in the Valley,” “The Orchid,” “Ultra Blue,” “Vessel.”
