Look Good, Feel Better Monday, July 11, 11:30 a.m. 4th Floor Conference Room This two hour, hands-on workshop includes a 12-step skin care/make-up application lesson, demonstration of options for dealing with hair loss and nail techniques. Patients also use and take home complimentary cosmetic kits in their appropriate skin tones with helpful instruction booklets.

Woman to Woman Wednesday, July 20, Noon 2nd Floor Conference Room This educational workshop gives female cancer patients and their loved ones information on issues unique to their treatment and side effects. Patients and caretakers will also have the opportunity to discuss their concerns with knowledgeable healthcare professionals.

This group is designed to offer encouragement to caregivers as they discuss the emotional challenges and other concerns often faced by the loss of a loved one. Folk Music: Roots of a Genre

Guest Performers: John and Karen Keane Friday, July 29, 3 p.m. Tower Ballroom Local folk musicians John and Karen Keane will offer an educational/ entertaining program for this month’s Well Worth It Series. The couple, who are elementary school music teachers, travel the United States as folk performers playing instruments that aren’t widely known in the area, among them the mountain dulcimer and Native American flute.

Cost: $5, nonresidents. Registration is required.

Brain Fitness Guest Speaker: Holly Winterrowd, Spa & Wellness Center manager/senior wellness coordinator for The Oaks of Louisiana Friday, July 15, 2:30 p.m. Franks Community Centre Health and wellness involves not only cardio and strength training activities while sustaining a healthy diet, overall health and wellness includes brain fitness as well. This program is designed to stimulate cognitive function through a number of games with different sequences, including alphabetical, numerological and picture puzzle games. Cost: $5, nonresidents.
