Designed for those who are considering or who have scheduled total hip or total knee replacement surgery. The Willis-Knighton Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute offers participants insight into the joint replacement process, from preadmission planning to surgery, follow-up and rehabilitation.

Growing Up for Boys

This educational seminar is designed to help parents prepare their preteen boys (ages 9-12) for the physical and emotional changes of adolescence. A medical professional will help bridge the conversation between child and caregiver. Two registrations are required, one for the child and one for an adult male chaperone (18 years or older). Join Willis-Knighton Health System as we shower women with an evening of information, prizes and fun. Margaret M. Crittell, MD, of Pierremont Pediatrics, will present on what to expect during the birth of your little one and through your newborn’s first year. Lauren H. Runnels, MD, of Women’s Health Clinic, will discuss the care of mom during this time along with post-partum depression and other issues unique to new mothers.

A wide variety of local vendors will join in on this delightful evening to present the latest in clothing and educational toys for children. There will be a lifestyle videographer, a lactation consultant, and a nurse who specializes in children’s immunizations, and much more.

Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given througout the evening. Family and friends are invited to join us as we shower new and expecting moms as they celebrate how to eat, pray, love, and SLEEP!
